'I didn't leave ya': Amid Kim Soo-hyun controversy, did Red Velvet's Yeri reference at Kim Sae-ron in Instagram post?

Since the death of South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, several hidden issues within the South Korean entertainment industry have come to light, with top actor Kim Soo-hyun at the center of the controversy. Allegations about his relationship with the then-underage Kim Sae-ron have only added fuel to the fire, with more details seemingly unraveling over the past few days.

Now, Red Velvet's Yeri has drawn attention with her latest social media post, sparking speculation that she may be subtly referencing the late actress Kim Sae-ron amid the ongoing controversy involving Kim Soo-hyun.

On March 11, Yeri took to her personal Instagram account and shared a photo showing two people — seemingly herself and Kim Sae-ron — sitting side by side with their backs turned to the camera.

What caught fans' attention even more was the next post: a screenshot of the lyrics from BLACKPINK Jennie's emotional ballad Twin, a song about the pain of losing a friend or loved one. 

The lyrics highlighted in Yeri's screenshot read, I didn't leave ya, I still see ya — a heartfelt message that has only fueled further speculation among fans.

Yeri and Kim Sae-ron's friendship

Yeri's bond with Kim Sae-ron was well-known, with the Red Velvet member once describing the actress as her "soulmate." Their close friendship was frequently showcased through social media, with fans often admiring their sister-like connection. 

This isn't the first time Yeri has seemingly honored Kim Sae-ron in her posts. On February 22, just days after Kim's passing, Yeri uploaded a story featuring lyrics from PL's Every Road, Every Season. The heartfelt song, centered on longing and remembrance, was widely interpreted as a tribute to her late friend.

Fans have been deeply moved by Yeri's quiet yet emotional expressions of grief. Many have shared messages of support, acknowledging the pain she must be experiencing in light of Kim Sae-ron's sudden death and the surrounding controversy.
