Mitchell Marsh, the Australian all-rounder who has been part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for several years, seems to have finally found his moment in the 18th edition of the cash-rich tournament. Playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while not contributing with the ball, he has showcased his full potential with the bat and has now scored his first IPL century.

The LSG opener reached his hundred in 56 balls, smashing 10 fours and 6 sixes. His celebration was understated — just a smile, a raise of the bat toward the LSG dugout, and a thumbs-up to follow. This also marks the first ton by an overseas batter this season.

Fans say, 'Bison on the loose in Gujarat!'

Cricket enthusiasts couldn't help but celebrate the century by the Aussie batter. They took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise the "Bison" — Mitchell Marsh's nickname, earned due to the size of his head.

One said, "An Australian doing well in Ahmedabad — we've seen that before. Brilliant innings by Mitchell Marsh."

Another wrote, "Best season for Mitchell Marsh. He's not bowling, but his batting is superb."

One exclaimed, "THE BISON ROARS – MITCHELL MARSH GETS HIS MAIDEN IPL TON!"

Another added, "The Bison on the loose in Gujarat!"

Mitchell Marsh departs for 117

The batter's glorious innings came to an end as he departed at 117 off 64 balls. He helped LSG post 235 for 2 in 20 overs and now GT openers - Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan will have to do what they have been doing so far - give a solid start.
