El Salvador President Nayib Bukele shared a video of a woman, who is seen crying after being harassed multiple times in Paris, which is quickly going viral on social media. As well as the tech billionaire, Tesla CEO also shared the clip on his X (formerly called Twitter) on Monday. But what is this video all about? Let's find out.
On Sunday, Nayib Bukele criticised a Paris Fashion Week show that reportedly made references to inmates at the country's mega prison. According to Bukele, his government was ready to ship all the inmates from the Terrorism Confinement Centre (CECOT) to Paris as soon as they received a positive signal.
The president of El Salvador was reacting to a post featuring models in white T-shirts and shorts on the runway for Mexican-American designer Willy Chavarria, an outfit that closely resembled the inmate uniforms at CECOT.

'We're are ready to ship them all to Paris'
A post surfaced on social media, claiming that a designer at Paris Fashion Week used his show to honour undocumented immigrants and violent criminals held at El Salvador’s CECOT prison, to which Bukele replied sarcastically, saying, "We’re ready to ship them all to Paris as soon as we get the green light from the French government."
Interestingly, Bukele was mocking the post and criticised the designer's message, implying that if France admires these inmates so much, then they are welcome to take them.

El Salvador's President posts viral video of crying woman
The Salvadorian president did not stop there; he continued his attack on France by quoting a video where a woman could be seen crying after being harassed multiple times in Paris.
Bukele quoted the clip, mentioning, "This is the result of glorifying criminals in Paris. He who spares the wolf sacrifices the sheep," which was a quote posted by Elon Musk as well, saying, "If you spare the wolf, you sacrifice the sheep. Sparing the wolf is shallow, not deep empathy."

Noticing the post, netizens quickly reacted to the viral video, and one user on X wrote, "Someone pass it on to Trump."
"Who will be the wolf, and who will be the sheep when the geophysical event arrives? I already know... The wolves are keeping the geophysical event a secret from the sheep," another said.

"True empathy doesn’t just weep for the wolf—it protects the flock. Mercy without wisdom becomes cruelty in disguise."
Empathy isn’t about sparing the wolf blindly—it’s about understanding the whole forest. Real empathy considers both the sheep’s safety and why the wolf became dangerous in the first place.

"Once again Americans proving that they are to scared to go outside unless they are armed."

El Salvador’s mega-prison takes a new role
President Nayib Bukele, who campaigned on a hardline approach to crime, had CECOT, a massive maximum-security facility with space for 40,000 inmates, made to combat organised crime. Originally intended to house members of violent gangs like MS-13 and Barrio 18, the prison is promoted by Bukele as the largest in the Americas.
However, in recent months, its use has shifted. The facility now also holds migrants, including 238 Venezuelans transferred from the U.S., with the Trump administration reportedly paying millions to the Bukele government to facilitate the arrangement.
